Hi Guys,
Looking at getting a new mountain bike. I purchased a Trek 3700 in the spring of 2010 and have been riding 2-4 times per week since then. The bike just isn’t holding up to my progression in riding. Things are breaking and the bike just does not perform very well. So I am looking to step up to a nicer bike. I plan on spending around $1000 for a new bike. Two questions:
1. How do test rides work, if I am going to consider buying a 29er I want to get one out on the trail. I assume chains like Trek will not let you take a bike out of the parking lot, but smaller shops will?
2. My local bike shop has a couple of 2011 Scott Scale bikes marked down quite a bit. Does anyone have any experience with these bikes? I didn’t see much in the reviews section on them?
