Build or buy a dirt jump bike?

Hi peeps..
I’m a new mountain biker and been loving it more and more each time a ride. One thing that really caught my attention was seeing these dirt jumpers! I live in Toronto and I usually bike at Don Valley trails, they have a dirt jump section.. Every time I pass this section I want to do or try these dumps.. I noticed the bikes they are using are either bmx’s or dirt jumps.. i tried it once with my bike and just didn’t feel right (prob the bike is too big fuel ex8) .. anyways, i want to invest on another bike and i was thinking of a dirt jump. Is it wise to just buy the bike or build one? I’m in no rush on getting this biking so taking my time building one is ok.. Which part to get first? and tbh, i dunno what im looking for.. 😳 part wise and all.

I think you will get more satisfaction with building your own bike versus choosing one at the store. I would start with looking at frame, then fork..
