Trail Description
About this trail
Very short trail but great for a beginner, Starts off pretty fast and flat, steep ravine about 1/3 the way through then from there rolling terrain some bumps and sharp turns. the loop itself is right at 1/2 mile add in the access road and its between 2/3 and 3/4 mile round trip. Good course for honing skills as it is short enough that making several laps to improve skills is very reasonable.

Review: A good beginner trail for those in the area, it's an easy ride that loops back so doing laps is a must if you want a good run. There are a few dips with some tricky turns, good enough to build up some confidence and get some basic skills, just be on the look out for the ravine/valley that comes in midway. A tiny feature was added and recent work was done to clear the entrance to the path; it looks much nicer than before but the path itself is relatively unchanged. This portion of the park system doesn't seem to get much use (i.e. watch for fallen leaves covering the path), but it's good for those wanting to cut their teeth into some mtb without feeling intimidated.

Review: If you live around Smithfield this is a convenient spot to get a quick ride in. It's short, but just do some loops. Not difficult. More fun at speed. I often ride to Windsor a couple miles from the house and do loops then back. Well maintained. Very little use from what I've seen. Been there a couple dozen times the last month or so, only seen other riders once.

Review: As a beginner I see this trail as somewhat of a challenge but I know it is one of the easier trails around, Its close to home and it is a good trail to introduce someone to mountain biking on. I like it because i can turn right around and rinde it again and try different approaches, trail is well kept wider that the nearby Nike Park Trail. An expert may get bored with this trail but a novice will get a lot out of it. The ravine is steep both directions, I hit 20 MPH going down every time even when tired on a 20 year old bike
