Trail Description
About this trail
The main loop offers a good after work mileage loop. several other trails also connect to the main loop for even more mileage. Not a very exciting trail, but good for miles and a cardio workout.

Q: What is the differene between the Trout Creek Trail and the Morris Bridge Bike Trail and the Wildernes Trails Loop? -LowDawg

A: There are several PARKS located within the 16,000 acre Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve. Trout Creek Park, Flatwoods Park, Morris Bridge Park, Wilderness Park Biking Area, Dead River Park, John B. Sargeant Park. There is a 17 mile singletrack loop that connects the first 4 of these parks. There are another 17 miles of singletrack side-trails for a total of 34 miles. So it is all part of the same trail system passing through many parks.

Review: Advanced rider, vacation in tampa over the winter a lot. So far it looks like its 2 bux to park at the few trailheads ive seen - fyi. Just started exploring this trail system, started clockwise from the morris bridge trailhead which is a few miles north. DO NOT RIDE PIGLET, leads to an unpassable swamp. Theres 4 or 5 other little off shoots, all pretty boring and flat, but can go fast on misery and parts of grandpa.. Did the whole wilderness / flatwoods trail clockwise up around the park, had to ride into the park across the street to enter the trail system north., It wasnt really smooth enough to go fast, so slow and boring. Def a beginner get miles in afterwork trail, but it is singletrack.

Review: Great easy trail to ride...a few ruts and some wet spots after a rain. A good easy aftenoon(?) work out.

Review: since I ride this trail 2 times a week I had to give it another great review. After heavy rains the night before we were still able to ride the full loop with out a hitch. very few puddles. sand was packed and made for a great ride. This is a higher cadence trail and very good for cardio and building stamina.

Similar Trail: flatwoods

Review: Fun beginner to intermediate trails and the 15 mile loop is a great scenic quiet way to put in some off-road mileage.
Lots of roots and bumps with twisting trails make it F U N!!!

Review: I agree with the Guest reviewer..seems like this trail system has become largely ignored. It used to be fun to ride the whole loop. Granted, lot of rain has caused many of the trails to be washed out and unrideable, but the other trails have also fallen into disrepair. Eubanks is so covered with pine needles the trail has all but vanished. Vegitation has overgrown the Trout Creek area to the point where things are blocking the trails. The Hole in the Fence section still seems pretty decent, but with the constant closing of Indian, I would think someone would go in the there and try to work on it to get it up and running even in the moderate rain season. Aside from that, the trail has some good flow and is still a nice little workout. It just needs a few months of TLC..
Oh, and it's time for open season on the wild boar. They are destroying this trail system and need to be made into delicious bacon in large quantities.

Review: Going downhill...it seems SWAMP has not made this trail system a priority lately, and it's one of the best in the area (or used to be). The back section off Trout Creek is mostly underwater, and the areas that aren't have been dug up terribly by the overpopulated wild boar. There is overgrowth, downed limbs, and pine needles obstructing the trail along Eubanks.

Review: Not a bad trail but not very technical. It could use some better marking in places but overall it was not bad. The real reason for my rating of 3 is that there is a lot of hog damage. The trail seems to be pretty decent but in many places there are large ruts from hogs.
I stopped at the river overlook and saw a couple gators. Also had a water moccasin cross the trail in front of use. Overall a relaxing easy ride but I prefer Balm-Boyette and Loyce Harpe park to these trails.
