Trail Description
About this trail
From the main parking lot, backup 100 yards on the road you came in on. The White Twister loop starts on the lower side of the road. Follow the trail and you will cross ridges and realize the trail name is appropriate. Just before the exit to the pay station, you will have some agressive climbs. From the top of the ridge you now go from the highest point on the trail to the lowest. Cross the bridge, go through the ferns, along root ridge and down to the old railroad bed. The last section travels an old railroad bed along Stonewall Creek. When the trail intersect with USFS Road #20, turn right and return to the parking lot.

Review: The trail would be wonderful with a small amount of work. A few berms and avoidable jumps would polish it to a mirror sheen. I'm personally huge on flow, and a couple downed trees and overgrown plants ruin it slightly. It is perfect to add on to Jackson falls. I enjoyed myself, and a little SORBA magic couldn't hurt the trail.

Review: Could be a great trail with some work! Quite overgrown currently, lots of downhill fun with some great scenery! Just be ready for the climbs!

Review: Fun trail. Wasn't ready for some of the climbing. Has some technical areas and some downhill. There were a few trees down. Wasn't too bad, but in some spots it messed up the speed I had going. Still a fun trail!

Review: Nice bonus trail to add mileage to the Stonewall Falls loop. Eat your carbs if you want to have fun. A few downed trees killed the flow after a plenty bit of climbing. And watch out for sharp sticks protruding onto the trail, they WILL cut you as you go downhill... Scars

Review: Awesome ride. A couple trees down but not enough to mess up the flow of the ride. It has some tough climbs and some technical parts. I would recommend this trail to anyone in to mountain biking.

Review: Nice ride, beautiful scenery. I rode it Friday evening while in the area shuttling some of the TNG riders. There is only one tree down on it now. Thanks to the volunteers that work this trail who ever you are. It is a good back country ride.

Similar Trail: all mountian bike trails should be ridden at least once.

Review: Wasn't ready for this one- great fun on the fast downhill switchbacks, but the uphills were a bear for me! I much prefer Stonewall falls overall.

Review: Rode the trail Friday 8/12/2011 and found it OK except for 5 downed trees that spoiled the flow on some of the better downhill sections. One section had 2 trees criss-crossed on a steep ledge making it very hard to get over. The rollers and log stunts look like they flow better going counter clockwise as they were on climbs going clockwise (starting at the TH sign). Some of the very tight switch-backs take away some good momentum from the downhills. the last climb coming out of the creek was fairly long and washed out making it tough so we pushed it mostly. Looks like it is a fun trail when cleaned up...

Review: Rode this trail just yesterday. Too many downed trees to count, but that's due to recent storms in the area. Fortunately we met a gentleman who takes it upon hisself to perform trail maintenance as much as possible. I can kick myself for not getting his contact info. But I'm challenged to go back and do my part in helping to repair such a great trail.
