			Mountain Biking Waverly Park

#10 of 108 mountain bike trails in Kentucky

Waverly is a great park. It is a combination of old ATB and four wheeler trails with handmade MTB single track....I believe in thanks to the KYMBA. The trails are somewhat technical with the park itself divided into a few different areas. There is no certain path to follow so experiment and find a loop you like. It's got tons of climbs, lots of half tight single-trac, and some decent downhills(One of which is called the Luge). Clockwise is the standard direction most follow.

Take I-264 to the Dixie Hwy exit. Drive ~7 miles south and take left on Blanton Ln (previously was St. Andrews Church Rd). Dirve ~ 2.5 miles on Blanton Ln and take right on St. Andrews Church Rd. Proceed ~1 mile and take left on Arnoldtown Rd. Follow Arnoldtown road ~0.25 miles to Waverly Park entrance on right.

Not much tech, long climbs, long descents, a decent beginner trail.
| ThankNice trail. The local team is still making improvements to the trail. This is probably the best trail in the immediate area that I have been to so far.
| ThankBest trail system in the Louisville metro. Flow is the word...hold on and don't touch the brakes. WOOHOO!!
| ThankThis place is just fun! Not to strenuous, flows nicely, and fairly easy to keep up some speed.
| ThankClinic Loop together with Twists and Bends took me about 2 hours. I took it slow and enjoyed myself thoroughly.
| ThankThis is where I learned and I continue to go here often. Can be as difficult as you want, but can also be a great place to get better/learn.
| ThankA fun ride near Louisville! Fast flow trails, lots of climbing and fast descending. A good place to show off BMX skills. Found a nice single track trail in the back behind the pond. A great place if you're looking for smooth fast riding with not a lot of bike handling skill involved. Bring your cardio skills though. I would say this is an excellent place for beginner riders other than the fitness needed to ride some of the hills.
| ThankIf you enjoy climbing as well as fantastic descents. Then you will love this place. The ground was pack well and clear of debris
| Thank.Only thing I had trouble with would be clear path markings. A local said to keep yielding to the right will always bring you home.
I travel a lot and ride trails all over the country and Waverley Park is one of my favorites! It's not amazingly difficult and not excessively long but it has a great sense of climb and descend and flow and everything fun you want in a trail! If you're near Louisville, Waverley is well worth the ride.
| ThankThis is by far a favorite and I ride all over the midwest and southeast. I look forward to my travels through L'ville just ride this trail. It has uphills that make your legs scream and downhills that make you laugh out loud. Dont waste another minute riding anything else in town if you live close
| ThankLots of acorns be careful 9/25/2014
| ThankJust 3 miles from my house and it's all I could ask for! They did a great job on them...
| ThankThis trail is in fantastic shape. Waverly has gotten better each year over the last three years. This is a credit to KYMBA and the volunteers who perform the trail maintenance. Evidence of their efforts are seen on almost every visit. Constant maintenance for this often ridden trail keep it in tip top shape. The trails are quickly cleaned after a storm - no surprising logs/ branches around a turn. While I do enjoy travelling to new trials each weekend, staying home and riding Waverly is no compromise. Go ride this trail. You won't be disappointed.
| ThankThis is a fun trail with some nice hills and tight turns. The park actually is split up in to three trails. I would recommend it and I will be back.
| ThankI give this Track 4 stars, I never give anything 5 stars! lol, but There are 3 seperate tracks, Fresh Air Loop, Clinic Loop, and Twisting Turn Loop. Over near the playground there is a map of the trails, I suggest you check it out, Its really hard to get lost in these woods. The Trail is in excellent shape lots of down hills and little pump areas. Some areas you can get enough speed to launch off the ground with no effort. The hills are tough but so worth it. I havent see many walkers on these trails but they are there. I rode each trail one time and then rode two of them the opposite way and it took me about 2.5 hrs including breaks and stufff. this trail is def worth checking out.
| ThankIf you want an expericne go into the trail head across the street from the playground, take the second Clinic loop trail, the only way i can describe that trail is "it's like a roller coaster" its got burms that twist and turn!! Epic Trail!!
Do you live in Louisville? Does Cherokee Park just not giving your legs the workout they deserve? Then you have come to the right spot. Waverly Park will kick your leg's asses. This trail is hard, fast and has one of the meanest climbs around. Your lungs will hate you but its all worth it because the downhill is so FREAKIN FUN!!!
Hardpack singletrack, rooty at times, intermediate difficulty, not technical, just exhausting. ENJOY!!!
| ThankAwesome ride, by far one of my favorites to date. Hard climbs and killer, long, fast downhills!
| ThankGood flow, fast and clean. A tiny bit confusing but you should have the outs figured pretty quickly. Not very busy, it is kind of remote but it is worth the trip.
| ThankNice. Good flow. Not technical at all.
| ThankOne of my favorites in the state. Super fast great flowing trail made for mountain bikes. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is it's a little short. I can ride the whole thing in a couple hours. But if your thinking about coming to Louisville and spending the day riding. Do this trail then go to Cherokee. You'll have a great day.
