This is a very well maintained and signed system of trails. Trails are not overly difficult nor hilly, however have enough technical challanges to make it worth the trip. The club that maintains these trails have done a great job!!!! I will try to add some pictures of these trails at a later date.
Dry conditions
| ThankSmooth rolling with some muddy puddles in areas.
| ThankGreat temps for late winter , snow is all melted and sandy trails are mostly dry with some damp areas
| ThankOverall area mostly dry despite recent rain . High winds have left numerous trees and branches down across the trails .
| ThankLeaves on trail
Only certain trails open due to excessive amounts of snow . Local club had run their groomer but the soft snow and mild conditions made for a slow grind with lots of sliding and spinning .
| ThankThe Turkey Creek MTB Club builds/maintains the trails at this Provincial Park and on private lands. There is ALOT here to ride of various skill levels. Some areas are a bit sandy. Alot of roots.
| ThankLots of fun. Nicely maintained. Beautiful forest. Can't wait to go back but will bring some serious bug spray. Deer flies are bad right now. (August)
| ThankTrails are perfect. Didn't see a single wet spot.
| ThankDecent size and fun trails
| ThankI've been here a few times this year and will be back, great trails that are well maintained and marked
| ThankThis place is awesome! Fat bike snow wonderland for sure. In Southern Ontario I can't think of another place that has more single track then Turkey point. I put in 3.5 hours of riding and I think I only did fifty percent of what is open. You can easily ride here for two days and not hit the same trail . Just a little warning the trails are very tight. On average trails are about foot and a half wide so if you are more experienced rider and enjoy natural groomed trails like me you will love this place. I am a downhill guy but starting to love fat biking more and more. I Love the way forest looks in the winter. Go ahead and go to Turkey point you will not regret.
| ThankI am not on Strava buy when you wish to come just post a comment under Durham forest reviews and I will see it. I update conditions at least once a week.
| ThankThank you. I will go on Sunday and hopefully it will be snow covered again. I am a member of Durham Mountain Biking Association so if you ever want to ride Durham forest I can always show you around. We groom our trails constantly so you will have a good time.
| ThankDoes anybody know how are the conditions there now. I wanted to go this weekend.
| ThankThank you very much for your feedback on conditions. I love to ride at Turkey Point but didn't want to come all the way from T.O and be disappointed with icy conditions. It supposed to snow today some more so hopefully all of the ice will be gone by Monday and I should have a good time riding. Thanks again for your update.
| ThankDo you know if conditions improved?
| ThankHopefully it snows a bit soon so al.of the icy can be covered with snow. I was there a few weeks ago after when they had a race and it was pretty icy. That was the first time this season when I felt I needed studed tires. I guess icy conditions are normal for Turkey Point in the winter.
| ThankHow are the trails up there? Did you ride it again after the snowfalls?
| ThankI was planning on coming down from Toronto to do some fat biking. After this big snowstorms do you know the conditions of the trails?
| ThankAwesome place. Got some tight spots here and there so if you are riding a bike with wide handlebars be careful . Trails are in great condition and for the most part fun and flowy. Enjoy!
