The trail srarts at the highest lake in the hills and leads mostly downhill with only the climb out of the lake basin.I always shuttle on this ride so I can be met either at the ghostown of Mystic-last few miles are a very fast fire road ride,or be picked up at many of the fine diners in Hill City-last 7 miles of long fast mountain road racing,wee! The trail is for experienced riders,and will challeng and excite any hardcore bike.

From Rapid city follow hwy 16 mount rushmore road south out of town till you get to hill city.Take hwy 385 north out of town till you come to the deerfield lake forest service campground turn right down the road till you see trail signs crossing the road.There is a small area along the road to unload gear. Follow the marked trail to the right downhill.
