Mountain Biking Summit Lake Trail

  Add a review
#237 of 306 mountain bike trails in Oregon
#21,980 in the world

This is typical Cascade singletrack through pine forests with multiple lakes along the way. About halfway through, it crosses the Windy Lakes Trail, creating possible loop opportunities. Otherwise, it makes a fine 20 mile out-and-back.

Getting there
From Bend, head south on 97 to Crescent and turn west on 61 aka Crescent Cutoff Road and follow it to the Willamette Highway 58 and go north to road 429 and take it west toward Crescent Lake. Take Forest Road 60 along the north edge of Crescent Lake to forest road 6010 (marked as 398 on google maps) and follow it to Summit Lake. The trail heads south along the eastern end of Summit Lake. If you get to the Pacific Crest Trail, you went to far. The road from Crescent to Summit may not be passable for passenger cars. Summit is easier to reach from the Oakridge side if you don't have a high clearance vehicle.
