Trail Description
About this trail
This is a very new trail system with aspirations for a freeride section to be built in the future. The trail is currently being built by the Northwest Trail Alliance and has been built specifically for mountain biking so the flow is great and the grade is manageable.

Review: Local trail community built. Fun with something for everyone. I hope they keep building awesome trails here!

Review: Riding for everybody. From the paved Banks-Veronia State Trail (21 miles) to nice wide multi-use trails that could be family friendly or great DH runs. The crown jewel for MTBers is the dedicated bike area. The Northwest Trail Alliance (www.nw-trail.org) has done a great job here. The XC trails are very high end intermediate and will keep you busy with switchbacks, climbs and descents. The FreeRide trails are full of jumps and drops. Be strapped in!

To top it off LL STUB STEWART STATE PARK was only established in 2007 and is a first grade facility. Full restrooms at several locations, campgrounds, RV hookups and cabin rentals available. There are bike repair stations at the Welcome Center and the Hilltop Day Use area. Trail maps were available at several kiosks.

Review: The Stub Trail is pretty easy to ride. Once you get into the "freeride" area it definitely goes up a notch. The "lick n' pin" was a crazy trail. Awesome, but beyond my skill set. If you got the abilities it would be a great ride.

Review: It's a great mix of trails and trail types. Everything that you can think of. Easy to difficult. The only thing that I would wish for is kind of inconsequential. Views are all the same...I know, inconsequential when presented with a whole area dedicated to riding. Love it here, and I'll be back again and again. As I am already.

Review: Nice trail. Took off from campground on some easy climbing to the core MTB trail. There is a sweet little section of DH where you ride up and choose from three different descents. Fun but very short. On the way back towards Veronia Banks trail, there's some fun XC trail that eventually drops down to a river. Not exactly a destination, but one worth doing on your way out to the beach.

Review: Stub Stewart park is a pretty fun place for mountain biking. There are lots of short trails of varying difficulty, terrain, and widths. You may get temporarily lost but you'll eventually find yourself back in the main camping area (which has restrooms, water, and bike tune up facilities). Typically you'll start up at the hilltop, make your way down the hill, and climb back up. The trails here are not suited for beginners.

The bumping knots loop is the one longer trail available, which starts off the nearby Banks-Vernonia trail. It's fairly difficult, with steep descents and climbs, and very bumpy (due to horses texturing the road when the trail is muddy).

Review: I stayed on the beginner track, but kinda got a look at the intermediate and advanced! I will be back to ride this trail with a different bike than my hybrid. I also met up with a mtber and he told me about the freeride and down hill area to the lower right corner of the MTb area. This wh

Review: I rode this trail system in January and even with my mud tires it was a little too soggy for me. There isn't any rocks in this area of the coast range so it tends to be muddy in most areas. Also there is heavy year-round equestrian traffic which can add to trail damage.
