Trail Description
About this trail
3 loops that can ridden together for an 8.0 mile loop with different variations of riding it. It is tight and twisty singletrack with abundant switch backs. There are a few hills in this area but nothing to steep... the trail has a lot of fast and tight(barely handlebar width) singletrack sections. There is also a very nice dirt jump section within the trails that will test you if you've got the balls. This is about as technical as the riding gets here and IMO probably the best riding in the area. If you come to Memphis and want to ride this is the place to go.

Q: This trail is marked for SHIT! Is there a MAP anywhere that notes the loops/intersections?

Review: Mainly flat and not very technical. Probably a good trail considering it is within the metro area, but not a trail I would go out of my way to visit. Apparently there are races one night during the week and they mark off areas to highlight the race route, don't be fooled if you come across them as I did the morning after. You can just tear them down and blaze on.

Review: Don't let previous post about trees down scare you off. Rode yesterday 6-30-16 and all trees cleared. Possible that previous poster hit right after a bad storm. It's in great shape and they seemed to have addressed the low lying soggy areas that I hit when visiting last year. A couple of good drops and steep creek crossings to keep you on your toes. I started on the blue trail to the left and kept taking lefts to complete all three loops. There is a big drop pretty early on Blue trail. At the top of the descent, a large hardwood separates the two options - both steep, but left side is smoother and easier, right side more rutted and technical. Creek crossings were smooth and easy if you keep your speed up as most had built in structure to keep you moving. Really fun ride and seemed to be popular with local riders. Not my last ride there for sure.

Review: This trail could be a great one if they would take care of it. Most of the signs were torn down, and the weather has blown trees down in the middle of the track. It's obvious that no one cares about this track otherwise work would done to it like most trails in South Mississippi.

Review: Decent trail, make sure to make every left turn otherwise you will get lost. A little more up and down for how flat memphis is. Groomed very well and can challenge anyone.

Review: Some trails are blessed with wide open vistas and acres of varying terrain. Urban singletrack rarely is, and Stanky Creek is no exception. It is a tiny, wooded plot inside a major metropolitan area. Despite these limitations the builders of this trail have created a tight, twisty, interesting ribbon of singletrack to enjoy with several punchy climbs and swoops through creek bottoms. There's even a few constructed jumps for those with aerial inclinations. They have made use of practically every inch of available land to get 9-10 miles in this limited space. There is even a BMX park in one section. You certainly want to see what this trail has to offer if you find yourself in Memphis.

Review: The BEST trail in Memphis in terms of fun. It has bridges, creek crossings, even a BMX track, drops. The only thing this place needs is some better signage, easy to question where to go next when coming up to the crossings. Came across some Stanky Creek Cycling club members and was told to just keep taking lefts at every crossing . There are dog walkers and runners here but everyone was friendly and would quickly move over for anyone that was at a faster pace.

Review: Great set of trails. Had a little for everyone. Could be marked better. The wife and I set out to just do one loop and ended up lost having to complete almost the whole trail system before we finally came across some locals who helped us find our way to the parking lot with about 30 minutes of sunlight left.
