The Red Dirt trail forms part of the Mad Creek/ Red Dirt loop, but it goes about 4 miles beyond the loop as well, dead ending at the wilderness boundary.
Here's a one-sentence excerpt in Singletracks.com style:
Navigating unsigned cattle trails through golden aspens, this Steamboat Springs loop delivers old-school singletrack bliss with loamy descents and wilderness views.
Most of red dirt should be referred to as "black dirt," as the loam beneath the aspens is ridiculously awesome! This trail is a fast, fun descent, with a few techy sections and some great flowy, swoopy sections. I could ride this all day!
