Trail Description
About this trail
Swan Trails, named for Rick Swan, are designed on 100s of acres including the shores of a beautiful Maine pond. Weather you are a novice or expert you can find trails to challenge your ability. There are beautiful views along the 3/4 mile trail that runs along the waters edge .Dogs are welcome, there is a lot of wild life in the area. Moose, porkipine, deer, pheasant, rabbits and many others are common. Swans Trails have rocks and roots and dry quickly after rains.
Rick Swan was an extrodinary athlete and trail builder, most of the areas around Orono, Old Town and Bangor Maine he help build and design. The trails at Swans were designed and built by Rick. This trail system exhibits his understanding of nature and his respect for the environment. Here at Swans Trails Rick has left his mark in central Maine leaving an extraordinary trail system for all to enjoy.

Review: Great technical trails with rocks and roots. Pure old school trails with old school flow. The Gnomes watch over you at every turn

Review: Like their namesake did, these trails are getting better with age, great fun, flowing with a little fear built in too!

Review: I love it out here. So remote and isolated. I've seen moose and bear on the trails. Quite technical stuff, not much climbing.

Review: Spring conditions, major mosquito hatch. Certainly Rocky, root challenging trails. Living up to " classic New England style trails" If your looking for flow, not here!! Also, beware of Google map direction offered on single tracks, left me out 1 A to Dedham Hill area

Review: I have been riding out at Perch Pond for a few years now. Each year, the trails seem to be getting better and better. I love the flow of the trails and the well planned mix of speed and tech. Sounds like Rick Swan was the man.

Review: Best single track that's closest to Acadia! Great for hikes with friends in every season and (my favorite) snoeshoeing in the Winter. If you're lucky you'll see some wildlife. Never populated and it's almost like the only one's out there enjoying Maine's beautiful nature. Some of the best single track mountain biking in Maine! These set of trails are special, from what I've heard, because they are named after an exceptional mountain biker who passed away recently.

Review: Quintessential North Maine Woods rocks, roots and hummocks that's close to town. Some of the best intermediate single track in Maine that is within striking distance of Barf Harbor and Acadia National Park. Excellent map and well signed. Dries quickly in the spring and after rains due to leaf blowing in the fall. Just follow the rock plating and you won't go wrong. Trails are continuing being upgraded by a dedicated donsy of trail gnomes.
