Trail Description
About this trail
Overton is a new trail about a year or so old. It is pretty well marked and one way. About 9 miles of mostly singletrack with rolling hills. Some roots and tree squeezes but otherwise intermediate. You can also connect to this trail from Glacier Ridge which is just West of route 112. Parts of the trail were once a paintball area. Along the way you'll see plenty of evidence of this, structures and such. Bring your lungs as there are a few climbs. The surrounding area isn't great, so lock your car. I wouldn't recommend riding here at night. Could be shady. There is a second parking area very similar to the main parking. It is on Mill Rd. (East of Route 112) South of Route 25. If your not comfortable leaving your car in a remote spot, you can take route 112 North to route 25 and park in the Home Depot shopping center. Plenty of activity during the day, relatively safe and very public.

Review: Came here on a Friday and didn't see a single soul. Brought my girlfriend who is a complete beginner, this being her first real mtb trail. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to a beginner, but saying that, it's very doable. Some sharp switchbacks, a few small logs, a few boulders, a few rock gardens, a few drops, but also so much open space for a beginner to really get a feel for mountain biking. The logs and drops scared her, but she still had a lot of fun even though we had to walk the bike a bunch of times. We avoided all the black diamonds and it took us about 2.5-3 hours to complete. No real complaints about this place, everything was well marked and the trail felt great. Definitely going to practice some more with her and I can see her riding this trail again in a few months. Saw deer run in front of us which was very scary considering the number and speed.

Review: I really like it here. It's usually empty and I feel like it's a combination of Rocky Point and Calverton. It's my new go to trail. Like others have said, it's not the greatest area so be careful what you leave in your car. Has a few good climbs and a really nice rock garden section and for the most part it's flowy. The fire roads while not part of the main trail, are still fun to bomb. I really feel this trail is way under rated, but probably because Glacier Ridge which is just down the road, is so good.

Review: The Overton trail has too many momentum killing obstacles for me.But I did enjoy the scenery.

My skill level is novice to just below intermediate. My bike broke after the last black diamond and I was 1 hour and 5 minutes in at that point. So I figure it would have taken me about 1 1/2hours to complete.

Review: Nice alternative or extension to Glacier. Fresh trails, finally enough people are riding over here to start really packing them in. The trails are well-marked and numbered, they all flow back onto the main trail. If you start in the Overton parking lot, you'll be starting in the middle of trail #4, if you come over from Glacier, you'll be on trail #1.

Lots of narrow sections, one nice rock section (wish there was more of this!), mild climbs, and some sweeping descents. Great for working on your handling skills, but no intimidating or overly technical sections. Some neat decrepit paintball structures scattered throughout and you can hear the active paintball range nearby.

There's also some new named trails with a little more tech than the numbered trails.

Review: Rode this a couple of weeks ago and it was a blast. Parked at the main parking on Granny Rd. Was in there a little over an hour. Got to second parking and looked so much like main parking, thought my car was jacked. They just look alike. This trail is getting packed down real nice. Thanks CLIMB for all your work in here.......awesome.
