#462 of 539 mountain bike trails in North Carolina

These trails are somewhat maintained and have an information sign at the trail head directing intermeadiate and advanced riders to appropriate trails. The day I rode these trails the trails were very choppy due to the trees that fell during Hurricane Floyd. Regardless, I would have to call these trails the most technical I've ridden in recent memory. There are countless steep ascents and descents and the trail snakes around the small patch of woods and doubles back beside itself. If you ask me, someone tried to make these trails in too small an area. There are also a couple of dropoffs that I would love to see someone ride because I sure as hell wasn't gonna ride em. Maybe these trails are good when there aren't alot of trees down but they just seem way too artificial to me.

Getting there
"From Durham, take 15-501 North towards Chapel Hill. Go past Franklin Street exit and past the entrance to the mall. Take the exit marked "Exit" at Raleigh/South Rd. Go right on Raleigh Rd. up the hill towards Chapel Hill. Turn left onto Country Club Rd. The park (Outdoor Rec Center) is at the end of the road. Trails are down the hill from the parking area, below the tennis courts.

Not sure this trail actually exists anymore. There is a sign below the tennis courts across from the pond that says "Start", but its likely this is from one of the many changed starting points for the disc golf course.
I found a trail about 50 feet into the woods, but again it disappeared so I am unsure if it was for biking or the disc golf course* Review edited 1/13/2009
