Trail Description
About this trail
Mt Kessler is a long narrow ridge line rising 4-5oo ft above grade at the TH parking. It can be accessed from north off of Smokehouse rd, and East from the new park on Judge Cummings RD. Rock city trail climbs from Smoke house to The Fire Circle area with some spectacular rock formations, and techy bits but over all not too crazy. At park look for trail E side of parking near the kiosk to sign in. go through the fence and follow signs to Water tanks.
There are multiple trails length wise along Kessler. Generally expect Rocky and rooty steep climbs, and same on decent. Most of the trails start or end at an area called Fire Circle at the top of Rock city access trail.
Trent trail is nearly a beginner trail, mostly following the peak of the ridge line, sometimes just a few feat wide, and sloped away in both directions.
From S end of trent access Crazy Mary, and Serpentine for several miles on East side dropping far down and climbing back up to fire circle, rocky, fun, difficult terrain, with a couple vista points.
On west side you will find Egg Beater, and Western Myth, both relatively calm, but still technical trails with less and less sharp of elevation change. and Spellbound with big, sharp elevation changes and lots of tech.

Review: 1 st time out on these trails - will b repairing my derailer. I never knew there were so many rocks in a state in America.Fun trails though - No defibulators. Will have to try Crazy Mary counterclockwise next time...I certainly hope I make it.The noticeable absence of white crosses on the trail is definitely a plus. :-)

Review: Loved the trail. Rocky and technical but not crazy. Didn't like the fact that the signage is a bit lacking. Several intersections could be improved with simple directional signs.

Review: What a place to ride. Lots of rocks, except Trent Trail. you defiantly pay cash for the dh fun, going up is mostly steep with rocky bits that require bursts of high out put. Get to the South end and point it down Crazy Mary and it's on. There's one fairly big optional drop and a pair of smaller ones not optional down there. The other more intermediate trail is Western Myth. Can't wait to get back. It is a real physical challenge, so not for everyone. I'd love to clear trees for sight line from the fire circle, which could be spectacular, but probably good reasons not to.
