Follow the main road (Wapiti Road) through the park first west and then north for 2.9 miles until it dead ends at the back end (far north end) of Grouse Mountain Campground. Here you will find a parking lot/trailhead for several trails. Lots of parking available. You can pick up the trail heading east on Cheesman Ranch Trail (Trail 17) a little less than a mile from the parking lot.
