Located at the doorstep of La Mauricie National Park near Shawinigan, Mont SM offers almost 30km of singletrack trails specifically designed for intermediate to expert mountain bikers. The main climb, known as the "T-Bar," zigzags up the front face of the mountain through a series of short switchbacks, reaching the first summit in under 20 minutes. From there, multiple loops spread across three summits through dense forest, with trails that are well-marked, perfectly maintained, and technical throughout. Most trails follow a one-way, enduro-style format that mixes climbing with technical descents, demanding constant shifting, precise cornering, and light braking through flowing terrain.
The network prioritizes technical riding over ease of access — these aren't beginner trails. Riders will encounter rolling singletrack that tests skills with tight corners, elevation changes, and natural features woven throughout the forest. The descents back to the base, like the Station or Halléluia trails, drop fast, providing a riotous reward for the effort expended on the climb. A training zone at the base features drops, jumps, and a pump track for skill development, all visible from the chalet's terrace.
