MOmentum Bike Park is Missouri's largest municipal bike park, spanning 95 acres near downtown Joplin. This $6.8 million world-class facility features 10 miles of purpose-built mountain bike trails designed to accommodate riders of all ages and skill levels.
The park offers an impressive variety of terrain and features across its 132,000+ square feet of bike park area. The northern section contains downhill trails that descend toward Turkey Creek through wooded terrain, all starting from a single hub with a return trail. Notable is the "Concrete Roots" trail, uniquely constructed using recycled concrete debris from the devastating 2011 EF-5 tornado that struck Joplin. The western area features technical, rocky trails along a former rail line, while the flatter southern portion hosts flowing XC trails.
The main parking area serves as the hub for the park's skill-building features, including a Velosolutions pump track equipped with the VORLD timing system and night lighting, progressive jump lines, a skills course with bridges, and a children's bicycle playground. A large pavilion and restroom facilities round out the amenities.
The park was designed by SWT Design in collaboration with IMBA Trail Solutions and built by American Ramp Company and Crossland Construction Company in just eight months during 2025. It opened in November 2025 and has already attracted approximately 70,000 visitors from 27 states.
MOmentum Bike Park represents a major milestone for Joplin's recovery and revitalization following the 2011 tornado, earning recognition as a 2026 Missouri Municipal League Innovation Award winner. The park serves as both a premier recreational destination for residents and a tourist attraction positioned to complement nearby Bentonville's bike scene, located about an hour south.
