Trail Description
About this trail
Mixed loop with about 80% singletrack, 20% roads/fireroads. Incredibly challenging at parts and very rocky. Steep downhills, steep climbs, but some awesome flowy sections mixed in. The trail is a mix of exposed rock, baby heads, sand, mud, hardpack, and boulders. There is a lot of variety for such a short trail. The view of Manly from the top of some of the hills is really great. The downhill to the creek crossing on the north end is totally awesome. Bring a Full Suspension rig if you got one, there are some serious drops on this trail.

If you are traveling from abroad and don't have a bike, you can rent one from in town and bike the route on the directions. Its all "bike trail" and is about 5km from downtown. Ask for a map or directions on how to get there. It's a beach town so its fairly bike friendly.

Review: It's a sweet track but still pretty muddy from all the recent rain.

Review: Fun local ride if you are close but it is very technical and very rocky. Beginners should be cautious but intermediate riders will be just fine.

Review: While Manly Dam Loop has some very technical a-lines there are b-lines rideable by any competent intermediate rider. Plenty of less skilled riders get out there, they just have to hike a bike some of the technical descents and climbs. At least 50% fire trail, road or path on the main loop - the bulk of the single track is above the golf course and the descent from Allambie Heights to the water lab. There are other single tracks - some legal, some semi approved, some definitely illegal, most of which are very technical and come with serious consequences if you fall.

Review: Great ride, some technical sections. The ride back down to the start is always something to look forward to, very rocky.

Review: Fun ride, used to be my local when I lived on the Northern Beaches. Great for a night ride or pre-sunrise spin.

Wouldn't say it's overly technical. There's a fairly technical rocky climb at one point and a monster drop off which has a convenient granny-line for all but the insane, but apart from that it's pretty mundane really.

Great views - and a pleasant way to spend 45 mins or so if you're sick of the beach.

Review: A good mix of trails for a quick ~1 hour ride. Nothing worth traveling out of your way for, but certainly a great ride if you live in the area or are traveling to Sydney. Technically challenging in a sort of "f-you" sort of way at times.
