Review: I rode the 2019 Golden Goat 3hr event I found it to be really well organised and really well run. Not having ridden a race before this was a very pleasing experience.

Review: Fantastic MTB area. Trails are in very good condition. Start of each bit is well signposted. Unfortunatly fell quite hard on a relativly easy bit, bit lots of frendly other riders out there to help. Thanks for that and will definatly come back one day

Review: I'm from the states (Michigan) and living in Oz. Just hit these trails for the first time and they're very well done. A great mix of all levels of difficulty. Exceptional rolling single track and very nice loop to take on a morning solo. Will be heading here often! Thx Dan

Review: Great trails which are constantly being upgraded. Not the most challenging however they are very well maintained and caters to most riding skills. Great for those in the South Eastern Suburbs looking for great single tracks with easy access.

Review: Lysterfield MTB Park is a network of some 40 km of mixed trails from beginner to intermediate to most difficult double black runs . An easy half hour drive from the city of Melbourne , the trails loop around the National Park & lake , where in summer , after a day of riding you can go for a refreshing swim & relax on the beach there whilst the waitress from the TrailMix Bike store & cafe brings you a coffee or a beer . The TrailMix bike store & cafe hire out bikes as well as do any emergency repairs , pretty darn good . Part of this MTB Park was for the 2007 Commonwealth Games MTB Event , & you can ride the route of the course . The network of singletracks is really what makes this place so special , flowing looping fast singletracks with burms , jumps of varying degree & height , some you can really launch off & fly - awesome . The trails are marked very well although its handy to take a map of the track circuit . There is a scenic trail that circuits the lake , its a vast lake , in summer , with swimming , sailing , bathers etc . Wet or dry this place is great fun , in one day you can ride every trail & catch a swim before the sun sets . Some parts of this park you really feel like you're in the wilderness , with kangaroos grazing all around the park & some reluctant to get out of the way on the trail , so far all kangaroos there are pretty tame , relaxed & friendly , two I had to go around as they wouldn't get off the trail . Fury , cute but some are 2 m tall , so be aware , cautious & more times than not they here you coming & hop away . The more advanced network of trails is where the fun is , some fast technical singletrack through redgum forests & some trails almost go through this semi tropical forest resembling something in Cairns . There is so much variety here , even in the singletracks & the differing trails. Some parts the trail is so narrow through very densely treed forests , it really does test your skills if you want to test it ! Most trails all connect to each other around this vast network of singletracks, fire trails & cross country trails , with some very fast downhill singletracks like Aneurism , a doudle black diamond downhill singletrack , this has everything, huge jumps & burms & a narrow flowing singletrack through forest , this run feels more like a ski run on a mountain bike. Then there is the Upper & Lower Blair Witch Trail, named because it is strangely eerie , even on a sunny day. A great intermediate flowing singletrack through haunted woods, onto trails like the Hug, The Commonwealth games Circuit, another inetrmediate trail called Redgum, a flowing singletrack that weaves through a redgum forest connecting to a similar trail called the Middle, also a connecting trail to the Lake Circuit Loop . You can take the more relaxing Lake Circuit Loop , or you can explore the vast network of trails & singletracks through this region , it really is totally great fun , beware of all the trees though as most trails are heavily forested , I had so much fun in one day there I want to go back there again tomorrow , so my rating of this place - awesome ! Even on the weekend there are other bikers you bump into along the trails, they are few & far between , some trails are one way only , for a reason , because runs like Aneurism is only a fast downhill singletrack . Trails are well marked , there is mobile phone coverage , drinking water at varying points , as well as BBQ's available to use by the lake . A main car park for mountain bikers is at the main trail head , from there its a fun flowing singletrack to the TrailMix Store & Cafe by the lake , then onto the more advanced trails like the Blair Witch Trail & beyond from there . From some parts of the trails you can see the mountains of the Yarra valley in the distance with the forests & the lake in the foreground , a very fun place to smash some trails or just a relaxing ride .
