Trail Description
About this trail
A great smooth, narrow trail for beginners and those that want to enjoy the outdoors but aren't interested in a technical ride. Its my favorite as I'm improving my mountain biking skills. Can be tacky, and even flooded after rains. Has several "dips" which are fun and everyone is capable of maneuvering them, even beginners. Since it is so narrow, you just slow down if needed. Short, under an hour ride. Also, its close to the Campion paved trail if you want more exercise.

Review: Just a heads up... There is ongoing construction under the Wildwood bridge. You'll have to go up the bridge embankment to cross Wildwood and make your way back to the river to continue on the trail.

Review: As previous posts mentioned, the trail has been cleaned up. Thanks to the DORBA trail Steward, for that. I think he said his name was Scott (met him there last week).

There is a new section just after the railroad trestle. Follow the day-glo red paint lines.

The Jeep Loop is now again passable, along with a little new section in it.

For reference, I'm tracking (GPS) an average of ~6.7 miles in one loop now, including all loops.

Right now (December 14th), it is as fast of a hard pack trail as it can get, with no face slapping branches in the way.

Review: Someone has been cleaning this place up. I've been going regularly for the past month, and there's rarely down trees or overgrown bushes.

Review: The trail is not visible anymore past the parking lot, doesn't look like anyone has been out there in a long time.

Review: I like mountain bike rides with panoramic scenery. Its a lot of serpentine segments to make up for the lack of space.

Review: This is as beginner of a trail as you'll ever find. It's also very fun and interesting and winds all over the woods. You can really get your speed up and even time test. There is nothing on this trail a child can't handle, other than a few dips on the back side, which you can skip, since everything is so well groomed and offers an alt route. Ride it with the whole family, you'll love it.

Review: LB Houston is easy to find, parking for at least 20 vehicles, but because of road construction, can only be accessed from Luna Rd, West to the park( go around to baracades)
. Truckers- no room for trailers, but enough room for the tractor.
The trails are nice, great canopy, lots of shade. Trail is marked pretty good in areas, some areas are not so well marked.
Overall, nice trails, seems well maintained.
Good trails, fun! I will return!

Review: This was my first Texas trail ride after coming off the wide open, yet challenging steep inclines/declines of Utah. After adjusting to the narrow passes thru tight trees I got better and better. I think I missed some black sections, so I'm looking forward to going back. There's also an obstacle course to practice on. All in all a great beginner- intermediate inner city trail. #DORBA

Review: Now that the cracks in the ground are only half the size they were in July, LB Houston/Claifornia Crossing single track is looking good. I think the Dallas Offroad Bicycle Assoc. was out there within the past couple of months because there are red and green markers for new areas of the trail open. I found 3 new wooden plank bridges on the red trail, some technical switches between trees, 3 fun and easy dips and lots of places to really just blaze through going fast. There are plenty of roots and placed small branches to hop, too. Have fun!

Review: Very nice and well maintained trail. Trail is easy to follow as lots of care has been taken to mark the main train, bypasses, and emergency exit trail heads. Very scenic course that shares every bit of the trail with the wildlife! There are a few skills areas where the rider can work on, develop, and improve biking and handling skills. The paths are narrow and areas are heavly shaded making riding with sunglasses a challange. You also want to use a camelback instead of a water bottle as there are very few places to get a had free to grab, drink, and put away the bottle.

This is a DORBA maintained trail.
