Trail Description
About this trail
Short \\\"loop\\\"- Mostly singletrack, but maintained by a ATV so its wider than most. First half hugs the boundary of the lake then goes up a moderate (100 foot) hill to an old farm road to loop around and finish. Watch out for walkers!. The trail is only noteworthy since I do loops on it at lunch (From the (soon to be shutdown)Konica Plant!) - Trail is closed on Tuesdays (and all of Dec & Jan)

Review: Good little loop with moderate up and down single track. Lots of roots and stays pretty wet/sketchy for the most part. There is an option to add about a mile and a half and this will take you on a nice little lake side track ending in a pine canopy.

Review: Roots...roots...roots. Not a bad short trail but its all rooted, rocky, bouncy trail. Can't imagine riding on a hard tail. Some moderately quick spots but mostly just tree roots that jar your insides out.

Review: I love this trail. We do the 3 mile loop after work, during the week. There are just enough twists, turns, roots, and rocks to keep you on your toes. Great track for beginners or anyone wanting a nice ride.

Review: I live 3 miles from this trail. This is where I go if I want to get in a great ride and do not have anyone to ride with. The trail is now about 3 miles and is a loop. There is a 1 mile cut off for those that do not want to do the full 3 mile loop. It is very fast, but there is a long up hill on the back side of the loop that will get those that winded themselves too early. Once you are past this uphill the rest of the trail is downhill or very easy up hills. Also watch out near the end of the loop, there is a section that looks like a Y in the trail. If you are watching the signs, you will see one that states "DO NOT ENTER". If you take this, you may end up hurt when you run into a drainage pipe. Overall it is a great ride if you want an Aerobic workout. If you want Technical trails, go to Owls Roost or Country Park.

Review: This park (and therefore the trails) is closed during the months of December and January each year. I talked to the caretaker and he said there is talk of extending the trails and of opening the park year round. I rode on the road instead. Lots of hills on NC 61 - a great workout (but a bit boring for MTB'ers)

Review: I really like this trail. It is fast and relatively smooth. It is one of the best trails of this type in the area. Not very long though... Does anyone know if there are plans to extend it?

Review: This is a short out and back taking you down by Lake Macintosh. The singletrack is fun and not technical. There is probably about 2 miles of trail and it comes to an abrupt stop right after crossing a bridge. There has been talk about extending this trail for 7-8 miles around the Lake. In the meantime, you can ride bikes here, even rent small boats, fish and picnic. The Park is closed on Tuesdays, however.
