Trail Description
About this trail
Trail starts off somewhat technical, winding trough a maritime forest in a tight doubletrack. Then opens up for an emergency access road, turning back into the woods, where it is fairly easy, riding an old sand dune ridge. There is then a hard left, then a right, then it becomes difficult. You traverse old sand dunes riddled with live oak roots. Finally, you come out of the woods at the visitor's center for a casual ride back to the parking lot on the park road.

Review: Rattlesnake closed due to hurricane damage. Beach and riding other trails in the mature forest riding more than makes up for it

Review: Check with state park. Trails have been closed and deemed unsafe due to widowmakers and debris. All campground ops are suspended

Review: Mosquito's, if you don't have good spay don't go! I had to turn around after 5 min of trail, because of mosquito's bites. You still can ride some roads see some views, And the trail was pretty "dirty" leaves, branches, maybe not so many people driving/walking it. Conditions can change, maybe depends on the season time.

Review: It's has potential, but not very well marked, was dry today, the trail leading out of the visitors center is a little technical for about a quarter mile then it is all nice double track, not much challenge but still had a fun day

Review: Easy bike trail. good for families and friends. you don't have to worry about kids going with you because it's fairly easy. If you want to go a little advance there is a more harder single track trail called Diamondback Rattlesnake Trail,. Lots of up and down, big roots and sometimes you'll have to push your bike uphill because it's very steep. It's 2 miles of non-stop ridge.
I like this one because it's more than a trail. there is a beach connected to it a lagoon that you can do kayaking or fishing and a camping ground. it's all in one nature adventure place. very nice.

Review: Its definitely OPEN. most of the trails are super beginner. You can haul but on them but they are flat. There is one trail closer to the main road that is half way ruined due to recent fire trails cut right through it. You have to find the sweet spot right in the middle and from there toward the lighthouse is pretty technical. some of the hills are ridiculous steep climbs. I go about every weekend with my state pass. enjoy the beach and picnic areas afterwards. Oh and tons of ticks all year around!!!

Review: Went for a miserable ride a few weeks ago. Noticed on the sign after the ride that the trail is closed (I think indefinitely).

Review: Weak trail for avid MTB Riders, but a great place to take the family for easy off-road treks to observe the natural beauty of this place.
