Review: Miles and miles of easy dirt road riding, but let me throw out some advice;
1 - Always call Range Control (520.533.7102) and ask if there will be any activity on the range, on the day you are planning to ride. They will advise of any closures but always stay out of the impact area. The areas that are off limits will be marked.
2 - Obey all warning signs.
3 - Stay on roads and trails. Going off track is not a good way to remain in their good graces.
I rode this area for 2 1/2 hours and could have, literally, rode all day. Make sure you have plenty of water and maybe a cliff bar or two, and make morning or afternoon of it. One more thing; There are many porta-pots on the range, so you won't have to worry about running behind a mesquite for relief. I also want to clear up the directions. The road to the east range is just north of Hatfield (east gate access). There is a small parking area on the west side of Brainard, across the street from the East range access road. You can park there if they don't have the gate closed. If the gate is closed then there are several areas nearby that you can park at. (East Gate Shopette, Eifler Gym. Just to name a couple.)
