You can start at either end of the trail or even in the middle. You won't have difficulty finding the trail in Thames, Paeroa or Te Aroha. They are small towns.

Very easy with very little challenge. Nice rural outlook
| ThankThe Thames to Te Aroha section of the Hauraki Rail Trail is mainly through farmland. You'll see lots of green, green grass, and dairy cows. Thames is an historic mining town on the coast. The trail from there through Paeroa to Te Aroha follows the path of an old railway line. The path is wide, flat and straight with a good surface, suitable for all the family.
