Trail Description
About this trail
Haldon Forest Park is very well set up for walkers and mountain bikers. You can also hire a Segway or go ape on a zip line. There is a cafe, and a bike shop that hires bikes.

Families and beginning mountain bikers are very well catered for with 12km of easy trails that weave through the forest. There is a 9km intermediate trail and a short 1 kilometer advanced circuit. These are all-weather trails and they are very well sign posted. In addition there are some unmarked trails scattered around the park, including at least one challenging downhill trail. You'll spot them as you ride the official trails.

Review: Haldon Forest Park is a very well established place run by the Forestry Commission. The 2.5km Discovery Trail is suitable for the whole family. The Challenge Trail is 10km of easy riding on a wide smooth trail. The Ridge Ride is suitable for intermediate riders with a little exposure, some rocks and roots, some moderate climbing and descending. The 1km 'extreme' circuit is steeper, with rocks, roots and berms but is advanced rather than extreme.
The park is very visitor friendly - the trails are clearly marked, the cafe is good and not overpriced and you can hire a bike or get your own repaired. You have to pay for parking.
