Trail Description
About this trail
Adjacent to I-25, the 160-acre property has native chokecherry and wild plum shrubs along an intermittent stream. The trail winds up into Gambel oak shrubland and onto a grassland plain with views of Pikes Peak and the Colorado Front Range. The trail skirts rocky caprock on the northern spur. A five-acre off-leash dog area is west of the main trail head. There is a porta-potty and picnic area at the trailhead.

The trail can be ridden either direction.

At the scenic overlook, leave your bike at the horse tether and walk 100 yards or so to the rocky outcropping.

Review: Not very exciting, but good for a quick spin if you just need to make your wheels touch dirt.

Review: Great workout as my wife takes the dogs to the dog park. Great way to warm up for a weekend burner or gear test for the colorado trail.

Review: Passable first timer trail. Nothing scary, but the dirt is just interesting enough to get someone jazzed about cruising on knobbies.

Review: Great dog park. So-so trail. Basically all you get is a tiny loop and a climb to the top of the ridge. With all the dog walkers on the trail more like playing Frogger than mtb'ing.

Review: This is a relatively short trail that is good for a couple of laps after work.

There is nothing technical on it, but it does have a moderate climb with some loose gravel and wide, sweeping switchbacks.

It's perfect for beginners or kids to practice on.
