Mountain Biking Fort Henry Trails

  Add a review
#161 of 203 mountain bike trails in Tennessee
#13,959 in the world

Miles and miles of trails. Everything from singletrack to doubletrack and then some fire roads. Large network of trails that have historic value as well. Plenty of well marked junctions (get a map at the welcome station!) Everything from hard packed dirt to rocky terrain and then some loose gravel. Several points to enter the trails depending on your desire to climb long hills or make quick work of level terrain. Again I stress the importance of obtaining a map. If you start from the South welcome station with no map, go left from the parking lot and not right directly into the woods at the parking lot. See directions....

Getting there
Land Between the Lakes South Welcome station. Park at trailhead directly across the road. If welcome station is open, get a map of the trail system. Several possible trailheads throughout the trail system. The actual trail for this system starts across the hard paved street (left of the parking lot), not directly at the parking lot (going right into the woods). If you start at the trail directly at the parking lot, it does branch off at a "Y" intersection about 2 miles into the ride. this is the point of the 65 mile North/South trail for LBL. Stay left and you will come out in a field at mile number 3, cross the road and continue. Park Rangers do not want bikes on the trail that starts directly in front of the parking lot, so play it safe and go left from the parking lot. I would also recommend, going about 5-6 miles up the road to a place where you can park on the side of the road and start there, in the middle of the trail network. I will attempt to post a map soon.
