Trail Description
About this trail
The trail is rolling with little elevation gain for the first few miles. There are huckleberries along the trail, interesting rocks to climb, and a few hidden fishing spots. The trail then has a few steep sections on the climb. Stay left at the fork. Continue climbing through several meadows until arriving at Idler Creek. The trail continues beyond this, but conditions are variable and most turn around at Idler

Review: This is a great trail to get out and see some really beautiful country. Majestic mountains peaks tower overhead, splashing creeks rolling along side of the trail, an abundance of wildlife all around. The ride itself takes a back seat to the overall experience of the area. Be sure to pay attention to the trail, there are some technical sections that you need to focus on. I had a few pedal strikes because I wasn't paying attention. There isn't a lot of climb. My ride took me 5 or 6 miles in before I turned around and I only logged 775 feet of climb. Most seem to turn around at Idler creek. My ride took me another mile or so. The trail is noticeably less used beyond the creek crossing, however the scenery gets better the farther you go. It's listed as an out and back however the trail does continue to Snowslide Lake and back out to Lick Creek Rd. This section has a fair amount of hike-a-bike to get through the boulder fields. If you choose to try, please use caution. You are quite a ways from cell service. Overall, not super technical, not very long but one of my favorites simply for the beauty of the valley you ride up.

Review: A long-time McCall favorite even though its an out-n-back. The climb isn't bad at all and the return just keeps getting better
