Review: Good trail near Gainesville to ride. I like to mix the laps up each time for variety. Add the Orange loop in your circuit. Ride the Orange Loop starting from both entrances.
I like to ride clockwise from the parking lot first. When you finish the rock garden of the Blue Loop near highway 29, turn right to start the Red Loop for a second loop and ride over the log at the beginning. Ride through the creek crossing before the open area. Where it intersects with the blue , start the Orange from the other end. When you exit the Orange, go right on the Blue, ride until you come across the hard left for the Yellow, and take the left. Ride the Yellow and keep to the right at forks. Turn right out of the open area, and continue till you see the parking lot. 3rd loop- turn left onto the Blue Loop. Take the horse path instead of the hiker route before the bridge to try another creek crossing. There is a sign on a tree denoting which way for hikers and horses. Continue around the Blue loop. Skip the Orange on the last lap. You will end up close to 10 miles. The rock gardens, logs, and rock piles make it fun riding from both parking lot entrances. Three laps is a very good work out. The trail towards the back near the residential area and on the other side near highway 29 tends to have water and/or mud after rain storms. It takes awhile to dry.
