Trail Description
About this trail
Start at the East trailhead and take the singletrack trail from the west side of the lot. It will intersect a jeep road, from which you may ride other singletrack spurs until you get to the Dome trail. Take the Dome for a very challenging ride (climbing and exposure), or the inner \"white\" loop (which is only rated advanced). Both end at the west trailhead: you may loop back on a hilly 7.7 miles on Hwy 170 along the Rio Grande, or turn around at the Dome turn-off and ride the jeep road back. Take LOTS OF WATER, tubes and a GPS unit if you have one. The hostile terrain, heat and mountain lions make this a good ride to do with a friend. Start early in the day; even in April it can hit 100 in the early afternoon. Check at Desert Sports for full details, guides and rentals.

Review: Extremely fun and versatile trail, but trust the park staff when they say bring two spares. Wilderness mountain biking at its best in the hard desert landscape with challenging climbs and a fair amount of technical descents.

Review: This trail is a blast! it is the perfect combination of technical and flowy singletrack. You can make the trail ~15 miles or up to ~25 miles depending on the route you take. The park rangers do a great job maintaining this trail system! I cant belive this trail is not higher on the top trail in TX list. In my opinion the trail systems out in Big Bend are the best in TX (me coming from Austin).

If you go, bring lots of water!!

Review: Best desert riding in TX. Take Waterhole to the Dome loop and add Fresno Divide for some technical and great downhill. Remember water and snacks, could be a long day.

Review: This is a fun trail. I rode it with friends in late February and early March. We rode from our campsite in BB State Park. There are a few small climbs, nothing too serious. Beautiful scenery and well marked trail. There is a fun 2-3 mile descent at end of ride.

Review: Lots of mix between single track and some jeep trails. It would be pretty much an easy if it wasn't for the climbs. Beautiful scenery. It was a fun trail. It can get very hot in the summer.
