Trail Description
About this trail
Brown Mountain is a tough Doubletrack climb depending on how much stamina you have that eventually sort of narrows into singletrack. It forms the climb that leads you to the top of the El Prieto trail, but you can continue climbing further up into the mountains on this trail if you so desire. There is no cost to enter this trail as well as all the trails around it.

Q: If the trail is tough why is it labeled as beginner? just curious :) -Tim Sauyan

A: If you are a beginner to mountain biking and your stamina is not the best, the first 3/4 of the track is not the easyiest because it is all uphill. But the nearing the top it gets more flat. When it comes to downhill the trail is preaty smooth until you get near the beggining of the trail wich is fairly rocky, that may have been what he meant by "tough"

Review: Hot, dusty climb that I'd really only recommend as a way to reach El Prieto.

Review: An exposed double track grind that will test ones commitment to the ride. Hot on warm, sunny days so bring plenty of water. Using it as a loop with the El Prieto Trail requires a 3 mile climb with 1200 feet elevation gain before it levels off for the next mile and a quarter. El Prieto, a black diamond DH 2 mile trail, is one of the best the Los Angeles area has to offer.
