Mountain Biking Schooner's Trace

****   Add a review
#71 of 102 mountain bike trails in Indiana
#7,361 in the world

This is arguable the hardest trail in the Midwest. Be fully prepared to surmount difficult step-ups, navigate hairy rock gardens, and traverse slippery rocks. It will hurt; however, just looking at the crazy features will make it all worth it. And hey, you might make it.

I had a pretty difficult time rating this trail. On one hand, it has almost no flow, is largely unrideable, beats the crap out of you, and takes no prisoners. On the other, it's worth it just to see how far Jeff Lenosky had to push himself to clear this trail (take a look at his Trail Boss video) and to see how far you can push yourself. It's the classic rating dilemma: skill-pushing jank or grin-inducing flow? If you're one of the people looking for the jank, this is certainly the place.
