Mountain Biking Blue Diamond Loop

***   Add a review
#29 of 108 mountain bike trails in Nevada
#4,740 in the world

The trail starts of with a quick little up and down and then immediatly into a
steep climb for about .5mi or so. Once you get up there that is the toughest
part of the trail. It will send you down towards SR160 and you will follow it for
about a mile before it starts to veer away from the highway. You will come to a
triangle split just north of the wash, stay left. Shortly after that fork, there will
be a T in the trail, take that right. You will stay on this trail until you run into a
fireroad/jeep trail. Make a right at the jeep trail and follow this for about 1 mi or
so. Once you get to the top of the little hill you will see a placard with a map of
the bike trails in the cottonwood system. You are now back on the BD loop.
Follow it for some fun, slightly rocky DH. There is one large slope towards the
end of the trail, its about 15-20 foot drop at about a steep angle. Get off the
back of the bike and plummet!! After that its back in the town onto cottonwood
dr , follow that till it turns left then make an immediate right, back home!

Getting there
Head west from Las Vegas on Blue Diamond (SR-160). Take the Red Rock
Canyon Exit SR-159. You will pass the Blue Diamond Gypsum mine on the right
and about 1mi after that on the left you will see Arroyo Rd. Make a left into
there. You are now in the town of Blue Diamond, drive slowly. Next you will
make a left on Cerrito st. You will take this all the way up until just before it
turns right. On the left side you will see an open dirt area, park there and the
trail begins just to the left.
