Trail Description
About this trail
This is a network of singletrack trails criss-crossing a ridge between the Ash and Vicee Canyons. There are plenty of different route options as you get farther up the hill and the trails intersect each other. Although not very technical these trails are fun from the climbs and thus fast descents. There is a fun and twisty trail that follows along the creek flowing out of Ash canyon. The close proximity to town makes these trails popular with everyone and you may encounter hikers on the lower routes. Not having much in the way of trees until you get up high, these trails are pretty exposed and can be very hot in the summer months.
A little history; this area, like a lot of NV used to be open to ATV’s, however after a large forest fire in ‘06 (?) sparked by an ATV the area was closed to all motor vehicles. There are several left over old jeep roads running through here that mother nature is slowly taking back, this network crosses them in several places but the trail network itself is all singletrack.

Review: Good fun, easy trails. Best to ride in shoulder seasons as it gets hot during the summer. The local group did a great job making this fun network.

Review: More a beginner trail than intermediate. Rating considers other trails in the immediate area. Nice easy XC trail, some good flow. Technical? No. There are a couple of bridges and switchbacks that beginners will want to dismount for. Overall a nice ride.
Edit: Having ridden this trail again recently with beginners I'll change the label to "intermediate." There are a few narrow/exposed sections and moderately chunky/technical rock sections.

Review: Fun trail. Good for when the snow is sitting up in Tahoe. Descent climb with a fun, fast ride along the creek trail with some good drops and jumps. Coming back down to the car is super fast.
