Trail Description
About this trail
Nice, challenging singletrack. Not overly technical, with some nice climbs and nice flowing sections, and a nice view of the French Broad river. However, this trail does get overgrown sometimes from lack of use.

Review: Anyone able to give a recent condition report on this trail? I was out in May and it was overgrown. Is it still such? I'm heading out to Asheville for the 4th and was going to warm up here if it wasn't overgrown.

Review: I found this trail to be unappealing... It was narrow, overgrown, and slick in many spots from overgrowth or really loose gravel. I lost traction many times in some relatively simple climbs. The combination of under use and really lack of features made the ride boring.

Review: Headed out for a warm up before bent creek.... this place is 3/4 overgrown. Almost all of red is overgrown and 3/4 of m3 is too. Fun little circuit but limited on fun due to lack of visibility.

Review: I love this trail. fairly technical and once you are familiar with it you can develop nice flow. hopefully we can keep it from getting overgrown this summer.

Review: Small area with some real potential. Gets bad reviews, but in my opinion if a fraction of the people who give it bad reviews picked up a McLeod or a bow saw it could be 4-5 star. Not really difficult, with a few slightly Technical spots, including a boulder that could hurl you off the side of the mountain. It needs signage, a little maintenance, and maybe a couple more trails, but all in all I'm glad to have it being a local. It's really nice when there is 5000 people at Richmond Hill

Review: Now that I've rode twice here my opinion is better. Got lost the 1st time due to no good map & very limited direction markets. The yellow loop is easy to follow it was the red loop that I took backwards the 1st time that got me messed up. Still could use a few more arrow markers I think. Ride the red counter clockwise like the map up front says & it was fun. Did the yellow clockwise & enjoyed it. The best down hill is the connector in between them that you only get if you take the red loop or take the yellow farther up the hill before turning left. All in all a good workout & didn't have to hike my bike as much this time either.

Review: It seems like a good park to ride in the winter. 2 loops with nice flow. Don't go there in the summer. It's way overgrown and you can't see the trail. I've never been through so many spider webs in my entire life.

Review: I rode here a few weeks ago as it was a quick drive from North Asheville. The right loop starts out with a fairly technical climb that sets the mood for the entire trail. This is a good place to polish handling skills around slow uphill obstacles. I really could not find a good flow on the right loop but the left loop proved to be more promising. I did a couple of quick loops around the left which I would suggest to other riders. Overall it was a descent ride, there is a spot on the left loop to look out over the French Broad River for a nice break.

Review: Not sure where this qualifies as an "intermediate" trail. The climbs are killer and there are many of them. The trail was wet and I'm pretty sure I may have been doing it backwards. The downhill sections were few and far between and short lived but fast (they were fun though). There were a few "WTF?!" Moments, like the sketchy rock face pushing you off a cliff if you hit the line wrong. There was a fallen tree chilling just low enough to decapitate you and two other fallen trees that stop your flow to climb over. A little tlc and dry weather (and going the right way?) might make this a decent trail to revisit.
