If you are looking for a tire that will grip almost anything this may be it. This is the most aggressive tire I have ever owned. It has made my mountain bike experience so much better when dealing with wet roots in the south. No more slipping all over the place.
My go to set up back in the day was Schwalbe Hans in the rear and a Magic Mary up front. I hear the new convict is like the Magic Mary, so maybe WTB is looking to compete with Schwalbe's super popular combo.
Pros Great traction, great price, great company.
Cons A little on the heavy side, and to me it was a little aggressive to be a rear tire and a little to tame for a front tires, sounds weird I know.
Ridden these for well over 500 miles and they still have lots of tread and no missing lugs. I would highly recommend these. I have the 29 inch mounted front and back on Stans flow ex rims.
Highly recommended for all mountain/dh/free ride. It can be a bit slow and heavy but if you do not mind lugging in the extra weight, it is a great tire for sand and mud. Wide profile is awesome for cornering and confident control at speeds. Despite the price these tires last a while and for that it's worth the money.
Pros Super grippy, wide profile, great for cornering, shines on sandy and muddy terrain, durable-knobs stay on even after months of hard use & it's tubeless ready!
