A great TCS for your front wheel. IMHO it's an XC HT tire at best. Ill get more when current one succumbs. This tire has to be on your list of choices.
Pros Square profile
Good grip.
Nice volume for a Hardtail.
Dependable in lots of conditions except mud.
Cons Mounting is a complete hassle.
Lots of squish when laying it on edge.
I absolutely love WTB tires. I have gone through three sets of them on my mountain bike. Yes they wear down somewhat quick, but I ride a lot and am very hard on my tires. Multiple times I have been riding with friends where they ripped up their tires and had flats but my WTBs held strong. I love these tires.
Hit and miss. If you can get it on, it treats you well - especially on the front.
They seem to be variable in the manufacturing, since some have gone on for me with no issues, but others were impossible.
I had only the one bead on, and seven broken tire levers later gave up. Since I was down to one lever and couldn't get the one side off again, ended up cutting it off. See pix.
Pros 1. Grip in gravely
2. Predictable
3. Cornering
I only use it as a front tire on a set of race wheels for true XC terrain racing. I ride this tire pretty firm too as they have some squish/squirm factor when at low end of PSI range which can erode the confidence a bit. The side lugs bend substantially when digging a turn, you'll feel it, but keep the faith, they will hold and see you through. When on edge, they sound like a zipper.
A good tire, but there are better ones out there.
Pros A confident steering tire.
You can play a huge range of PSI.
Cons Holy crap are they hard to get the bead to pop.
Mud magnet.
I bought this tire for my rear wheel. I am very happy with the performance. It has excellent grip and performs well in all conditions and terrains. Had a little trouble mounting on my Bontrager Mustang wheels. Other than that, couldn't be happier with it!

overall great tire grips well. It is very squirmy in the turns but won't let go so if you just hang on and rail the turn it will be ok.
Pros
tubeless
aggressive tread
lightweight
