I will take it out a few more times (of course) after my shoulder is healed up from our first trail bonding day and when the rain stops (preserve the trails!) and update my review with more details. =)
Happy riding!
Pros Took it out once so far, compared to my old bike this is a huge step up!
- The 27.5 tires make it easy to get speed and roll over obstacles.
- It is so light that my hopping and jumping game will increase this season!
- The color pops!
- It is a downhill bike ready for enduro rides. I pedaled uphill (in Utah!) with open suspensions and no other problems than my gears (see the con section) and breathing to get up.
- It is easy to stiffen the suspension while riding and the dropper seatpost makes it easy to adjust to the terrain without ever having to step off the bike!
Cons - Not a lot of color options to choose from (but is that sooo important?)
- my gears are set off after my first day riding up and made my chain pop. (That is to be expected though after riding it with full weight for the first time)
best all around bike I have ridden, I have owned pretty much every bike (Pivot Mach 6, Marin Attack Trail, Enduro 26er and 29er, Tallboy LTC, Bronson- first one, and several other bikes) this is the one I came back to. It strikes the perfect balance between climbing ability and downhill prowess. Tight uphill switchbacks are not a problem, quick direction changes and acceleration are strong attributes, dialed geometry and great parts spec. As with any bike of this caliber, the price of entry is pretty steep, but for my money, I have not found a better bike, and for the last 5 years I have sold and traded bikes approx. every three months searching for the perfect bike and this is the one!
I rented this bike in Co. and I instantly felt at home on it, I had to buy one for myself. This bike can be used as a do it all bike. Not as fast on flat or climbs as an XC bike but you would expect that with the travel. Very fun playful bike. It can also handle bike parks
Pros Climbs well for the travel
Playful feel
Seems like a solid frame
Zerk fittings for lower pivot
If you are looking for a bike that can handle just about anything this bike is well worth trying. Has become my go to bike. This bike suits me for everything I will ride. Small drops jumps (the bike can handle more than I can ride) Downhill. Climbs very well even without the CTD.
Pros Whole bike works well as a unit. Very easy to maneuver, climbs well and descends even better. Grin inducing ride.
Cons Broke two brake levers in 3 months, I believe Shimano have fixed that with the newer carbon mix blades. Easy enough to repair at home.
ahhh definitely!!
