I have one Motobecane HAL5. It was a decent beginners bike in 2017... But in 2023 is totally outdated. Old geometry, technologies that are being abandoned by manufacturers (triple chainring front, dropouts instead of thru axles, narrow bars, long stem, external cable routing even for dropper post) Thus is very hard to find replacement parts. Mine, only the frame remains original. I had to upgrade everything else, which ended to be a bad investment... With that money, I would have bought a way better bike. What is really sad is that we are in 2023 and the manufacturer hasn't changed nor updated anything. In other words, they are selling a 2017 bike under a 2023 model... Just colors are different. Moreover, they advertise it as "the top of the food chain"... What food chain? Walmart bikes? and not even that. Walmart is more updated. Finally, customer support is really bad. Make yourself a favor a look for something else. Look for a 2023 bike (a hardtail if you are in a budget) but with 2023 geometry and technology.
