I've had this bike for over 4 years (5k miles) and I've put it through the ringer. It's been on everything from fun flowy singletrack to rock gardens, 3' drops, snow, XC racing, you name it. I've upgraded just about everything over the years but not out of necessity. The weakest area for me were the stock wheels from Easton. I stripped the rear wheel hub (warranty) and then the replacement wheel as well. But with the Stans Arch MK3 this baby rocks!
The Kona Hei Hei Trail DL is a near slam dunk purchase when comparing against the competition. The spec is on point delivering premium performance at value.
Pros - near perfect geometry
- spec screams performance
- 1x11 drivetrain
- short chainstay
- wallet friendly
Cons - heavier than pricier competition
- spec does not include a dropper post
