I bought one of these the night before a race when I had realized that my front tire was torn. For the race I just tubed it and aired it and went. The race conditions were wet and rooty and rocky and this tire stuck! After the race I bought one for the back and aired them both up tubeless! I only paid $19.99 each at Walmart back in July (5 months ago) and I've been riding them ever since. Last week I raced the Snake Creek Gap 34 miler and they were awesome as always and they just keep going. I can't believe I used to pay $60-$75 for a tire. Sure, these are a little heavier and they don't have the sex appeal of a Racing Ralph EVO, but with this kind of performance and durability, who cares.
I have tried a lot of tires and brands and see no reason to go back to them.
If you like a big block tread, try these out. You won't be disappointed.
UPDATE: It's been a year now and it's time to replace. I can't find anyone stocking them now but both Academy Sports and Walmart offer them online for about $23 each. I still love these tires and have not flatted or torn them yet even after my own 2 trips to the hospital.
The more I ride on these tires the more confidence in them I have. I have been able to push them in a number of different conditions and the only thing that as stopped me so far are my own skills and 12" deep sand! And now I see Walmart has dropped the price per tire down to 19.99 each. I am buying two more spares at that pirce!!
