Model/Year: Performance/2017

Pros: Can be found pretty cheap in this casing -around $35. Very grippy. Excellent treadwear on singletrack compared to other tires I have had. Good mud shedding. Tight fit for tubeless.

Cons: Casing was pretty poor. I had the lowest model so I guess that's expected but moderate trails with rocks ate up the sidewalls long before the tread wore out. I think for my build (190lbs) and riding conditions ( random sized rocks sticking out of the dirt) I need a better cased tire with higher tpi and more layers.

Recommendation: Good tire for flowy trails. Get thicker sidewalls for the gnar.

Pros: - One of the best gripping tires out there - Rolls well with feeling heavy

Cons: - Wears very quickly - Expensive

Recommendation: I love this tire. Grips, rolls, and gives great control up and down. If only it lasted longer. Was worn through after just 6 months of regular riding.

Model/Year: 2016

Pros: Grippy
Great in all new england conditions
Beefy sidewall protection

Cons: Knobs tear away
sidewalls begin to leak after a few months with sealant

Recommendation: I would run these tires hard for a season but thats about it. They grip well however when the side knobs begin to peel off, traction drops off.

Pros: Traction WIDTH Easy tubeless setup Snakeskin sidewall

Cons: A little heavy Pricey Roll resistance

Recommendation: The cons I listed are all to be expected with an aggressive tire like this. I love this as a front tire with a ralph in back. Super easy tubeless setup with a floor pump on tubeless ready rims. The 2.35 width tire is a fat sucker! Seems to be holding up well on summertime singletrack.

Pros: Great stick

Cons: No con
maybe rolling speed

Recommendation: HIghly

Model/Year: Performance 2015

Pros: Price
Rolls nicely
Grip on everything except rocks wet or dry compared to the Maxxis Minion Super Tacky which isn't a fair comparison.

Cons: See above

Recommendation: I'm pleased with the tire but I think I'll try the stickier compound next go around.

Model/Year: 2014

Pros: Traction forever, durable,

Cons: rolling resistance, price, the side lugs will fall off fairly quickly compared to others, especially in the subzero temps

Recommendation: These are great GNAR tires, durable and fat, the side lugs started falling off after a few months and did not like cold weather. But overall, I will buy again.

Pros: Grips well in multiple conditions, I think they excel in loose over hardpack. They also come in trail star and pace star compounds (softer and harder). I recommend Trailstar on front and pace star on rear.

Cons: Price, Trailstar on rear wears quickly

Recommendation: great tire if you have the coin to buy them.

Pros: Grippy

Cons: expensive

Recommendation: I love em. They grip very well here in Colorado and while they are heavy, I'll continue to buy them.
