Red Bull Hardline BC reveals massive feature ahead of October event

Red Bull Hardline BC is only three weeks away, yet little is known about the track beyond the fact that it’s expected to live up to its name. Hardline is dubbed the “toughest downhill race in the world,” essentially combining World Cup DH racing with Rampage-style freeride features.

The Atherton brothers started the event in 2014, hosting the first Hardline race in Wales. Another track opened in Tasmania in 2025, before expanding to a third venue in North America — Cypress Mountain on the North Shore of Vancouver, BC.

Seeing it for the first time

This week, however, we finally got a quick peek at one of the features — a massive drop that will curl your toes. Spotted on freeride legend Brett Tippie’s Instagram page, a photo shows the end of a ladder drop, with a wooden landing very far below. Tippie’s wife stands below; far, far below.

According to the post: “This one is a 25’ by 25’ wood to wood in the trees with a tight catch berm after.”

A 25-foot drop with a 25-foot distance to clear is massive. However, in another post, this time by Red Bull, Dan Booker guinea-pigs the massive feature, sending it much deeper than expected, nearly clearing the entire wooden structure built for the top portion of the landing.
