Mountain Biking Homestead Elk Meadow Loop
#935 of 1,414 mountain bike trails in Colorado
This is a 7 mile loop starting from the trailhead at the back end of Grouse Mountain Campground. Start on Homestead Trail (Trail 12) and work your way west and south until Homestead ends on the main road. Head south on the main road about a third of a mile until you reach the Elk Meadow Trailhead. Follow Elk Meadow (Trail 18) east and north until it connects with Cheesman Ranch Trail (Trail 17). Take a left and follow it west back to the original trailhead. Lots of beautiful forest and views along the way. You can add some additional short alternate trails like Mountain Logger or Peak View.

Follow the main road (Wapiti Road) through the park first west and then north for 2.9 miles until it dead ends at the back end (far north end) of Grouse Mountain Campground. Here you will find a parking lot/trailhead for several trails, including Homestead Trail. Lots of parking available.
Beautiful loop but the riding is average because much of the trail is doubletrack, two-track and fire roads. There is some good riding along the way though and some really fast downhills and big climbs.
