Mountain Biking Cahill Pond
#834 of 1,408 mountain bike trails in Colorado
This is a one mile trail consisting of wide double track or two track with scree surface. It runs from Cheesman Ranch Trail on top (west end) to Moonshine Trail on the bottom (east end). The upper 2/3 of the trail is steep, and the bottom 1/3 is more gradual. It is a beautiful setting in mixed conifer forest with beautiful views of Pikes Peak. Cahill Pond is a charming little pond near the bottom. The trail makes for a blazing downhill heading east or a rigorous climb heading west.

Follow the main road (Wapiti Road) through the park first west and then north for 2.9 miles until it dead ends at the back end (far north end) of Grouse Mountain Campground. Here you will find a parking lot/trailhead for several trails. Lots of parking available. You can pick up the trail from Cheesman Ranch Trail (Trail 17) not more than a quarter mile from the parking lot.
Blazing downhill in beautiful mixed conifer forest. Great views of Pikes Peak.
