#8,939 in the world

This trails heads west off of Coal Bank Pass at ~10,600 feet and climbs 1037 feet to Engineer Mountain Trail in just 2.6 miles. It ascends right about 400 feet per mile on average and at high elevation, so it's a rigorous but doable climb. The trail is singletrack throughout with some big chunk along the way. It provide great access to an abundance of subalpine/alpine singletrack, and thus, is a popular trail with various kinds of trail users.

Fairly steep single track at high elevation with some good chunk. Slow climb with some dismounts. Fast descent with some "moments". Intermediate trail with some advanced portions.
