The Wood River Trails Coalition (WRTC) is working with Kona to raffle of a new Process 134 CR 29 to benefit the WRTC mission: to create, maintain, and sustain trails for all users.
The WRTC is the trails group based in Sun Valley, Idaho, which advocates, builds, and maintains the front and backcountry trails that make the area a great destination. They’re current “three-pronged approach: recruit and train skilled volunteers, support local professional trail crews and finance new trail projects.”
Like many destinations the Sun Valley area had a lot of visitation last year, and the group has plenty of maintenance to catach up on. WRTC says, “While Sun Valley is famous for its skiing, summer recreation on its abundant public lands is challenging winter’s offerings as the area’s claim to fame.”
The bike
WRTC and Kona are giving away a mid-travel trail bike, with Fox suspension, a SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain, G2 RS brakes and Maxxis tires.
The raffle
For $10, contributors can support the trails and be entered to win the new Kona Process 134. The last day to enter is September 6, 2021. Every $10 is one ticket, and a new WRTC membership or renewal also equals one ticket.
WRTC priced out what different levels of support can accomplish, and it’s interesting to see the money in terms of what it allots the organization. As of this writing, they are about a quarter of the way to their $20,000 goal.
- $10 = one pair of work gloves for a volunteer
- $30 = one handsaw for volunteer work
- $50 = four gallons of chainsaw bar oil
- $200 = one mile of professional trail maintenance
