From Charleston - Take Highway 17 North through Mt. Pleasant towards Awendaw. About 10 miles out of Mt. Pleasant, you will be going through the Francis Marion Forest and will come upon the Sewee Visitors Center on your right - This is a good place to stop for trail information - They are open every day except Sundays. Swamp Fox trail can be accessed at a number of places along its 42 mile route - One access point is about 5 miles past the Sewee visitors center - on the left. For a trail map see:

This trail is wide open and flat. It is better suited to long distance travel than an intense singletrack experience. Use it to build your bike specific endurance or, better yet, take a weekend bike packing trip out & back to one of the campgrounds along its length.
| ThankI only rode from Mile marker 1 through 21 or so but it was fairly boring. An occasional slope to speed things up, but you will pedal the entire time. Nothing technical, unless you count the 10 or 15 times i had to dismount to cross deep swamp mud. The trail is not maintained for mountain bikers. If you're in the area check out Marrington.
